Coaching For Swimmer

Three young New Zealand swimmers, two from Auckland and one from Christchurch, are having the benefit of special coaching in Australia this winter. The Christchurch swimmer, Miss L. Harrow, is at present in the second week of her four weeks’ training with a group of Australian Olympic swimmers under the noted coach, Mr Frank Guthrie. The training of the three New Zealanders has been a purely private arrangement. Miss Harrow was invited to Australia by the Auckland professional coach, Mr Paul Krause, who is assisting Mr Guthrie in the training of seven top Australian competitors. Among Mr Guthrie’s squad are Lorraine Crapp, John Shipton and John Monkton, who are among Australia’s best Olympic prospects.
