U.S. EDUCATIONAL GRANTS
Four Teacher Exchanges A United States Government grant has been awarded to Mr A. E. Golding, senior inspector of primary schools for the Wellingtion education district. This was announced by the United States Embassy. Mr Golding has also been awarded a Fulbright travel grant to enable him to take up his Government award. Miss Margaret J. Watt, assistant lecturer in the School of Home Science, University of Otago, has been awarded a travel grant to enable her to take up a scholarship at Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. Four teacher exchanges were also announced by the United States Educational Foundation in New Zealand. Mrs Patricia D. Crim, of Cope Junior High School, Redlands, California, will exchange with Miss Lois E. Levien, of Nelson Girls’ College. Mrs Lila B. Sheppard, of West Hill School, Ithaca, New York, will exchange with Mr J. P. Forsyth, of Roseneath School, Wellington. Miss Jennie E. Ferris, of Holmes School, Spokane, Washington, will exchange with Mr R. W. Katterns, of Harrisville School, Tuakau. Miss Maryanne Slack, of Shawmut Hills School, Grand Rapids, Michigan, will exchange with Mr L. J. Grondin, of Masterton East School, Masterton.
