Breweries, Fletchers, Whakatane Firmer
New Zealand Breweries shares rose a further 6d to 16s—a gain of Is since first dealings in the 5s units on Monday. Fletcher Holdings shares and rights were also firmer. Whakatane Board Mills, in first local business since the announcement of the higher profit and dividend, were 2s 3d above last week’s price. Forest Products rose 9d to a new peak of 41s. Holeproof preference, New Zealand Farmers’ Cooperative ordinary and New Zealand Newspapers were also firmer. Email and McSkimming Industries sold at lower prices. Turnover was again below recent daily averages.
