FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT
Situation.—A ridge of high pressure is moving over New Zealand, and a trough of low pressure is moving eastwards across the south Tasman Sea. Forecast:— Marlborough, Nelson, and Buller.—Fine, with light, variable winds and day temperatures becoming milder. Outlook: cloud increasing, and rain developing. Westland.—Light to moderate variable winds; cloud increasing during the day, with light rain possibly spreading from the south on to south Westland by night; moderate day temperatures. Outlook: rain. . Canterbury.—Moderate winds developing, north-easter-lies near the coast, north-wester lies elsewhere; clear or partly cloudy skies, with day temperatures becoming milder. Outlook: showery, south-westerly conditions.
