Hagley Park

Sir, —-With the removal of the straggly hedge from the southwestern corner of Hagley Park the way is now open for the appropriate authorities to replace it with something that will give all who pass that way an unobstructed view of the beauty and yet keep out motor traffic. The answer appears to be a two-foot concrete kerbing, which in 1959 Cr. Cowles gave an assurance would be experimented with. Let us see some action from the present council from whom we expected so much.—Yours, etc., CITY BEAUTIFUL. July 27, 1960.
