STREET APPEAL COMMENDED

Mayor’s Message Public support for the combined appeal of the Adult Cerebral Palsy Association and the Society for the Protection of Home and Family on Friday was urged by -the Mayor (Mr G. Manning) yesterday. The first association was comparatively new and bad been formed with the object of raising funds for the construction of a home for adult cerebral palsy sufferers, the Mayor said, a task not met by the better-known Cerebral Palsy Association. The work of the Society for the Protection of Home and Family in looking after broken homes was well known, Mr Manning said. Additional collectors are still being welcomed by the associations for the street appeal, the headquarters of which will be Trinity Church Hall in Manchester street
