VITALITY IN RED CROSS
“New Avenues Of Service”
“New avenues of service have brought new vitality to the Red Cross,” said Mrs R. L .Brake, president of the North Canterbury Centre ‘of the New Zealand Red Cross Society, at the annual meeting in Christchurch yesterday. She reported that £lOOO worth of blankets had been sent to Chile for the earthquake relief fund, from the New Zealand Red Cross Society. They had been bought from a Christchurch factory and airlifted to Auckland. Officers elected were;-r- . President, Mrs R.' I. Brake;, vice-presidents, Miss M. C. Bain, Mesdames J. B. Hay and M. B. Warren; treasurer, Mr S. Barrett; committee, Mesdames F. E. Burrell, A. G. Jamieson, T. C. Mating, D. J. Wales, W. D. Bunt, A. L. B. Carey, M. Kay, Miss Phyllis Boyle, Messrs S. M. Deans, E. W. Reeves, P. Hollander, A. L. B. Ross.
