"SALUTE AUCKLAND’ DISPLAY

R.N.Z.A.F. Programme Approved (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 27. Auckland will be crowded with airmen from September 11 to September 18 when the Royal New Zealand Air Force puts on a special flying and ground display throughout the week as part of the Auckland provincial one hundred and twentieth birthday celebrations. With the biggest Air Force technical display planned and flying every day, the week will finish with a special ceremony on Battle of Britain Sunday. Approval for the “salute to Auckland” was announced today by the Chief of the Air Staff (Air Vice-Marshal M. F. Calder). The service staged a similar week-long display in Wellington last year to precede the official opening of Wellington airport.
