Communists To Contest 18 Seats

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 20. Communists will contest 18. seats in the General Election. Two will : stand in Dunedin—Mr E. W. Hunter, in Dunedin North, and Mr J, L. Marston, in Mornington. Three years ago the Commun- , ists nominated candidates in only 1 five electorates—Ponsonby, Island Bay, Christchurch Central, West--1 land, and Mornington. This year, 5 according to the “People’s Voice,” there will be nine standing in the Auckland district, four in the - Wellington area, two in Christ- ’ church, and one in Westland.
