G. J. Coles Profit At Record Level
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, July 20. Consolidated net profit of G. J. Coles and Company, Ltd., chain stores, for the year to June 25 was at a record of £2,062,000, comparing with £1,824,802 in 1958-59, and with £1,810,399 in 1957-58. . Ordinary dividend for the year is steady at 11 per cent. Profit was disclosed in a preliminary statement. It is after tax, but subject to final audit. It shows an increase of 13.1 per cent, on the previous year. Sales for the group, directors state, disclosed a substantial increase.
Final ordinary dividend declared is 7 per cent, for the half year (4 l-sd) a 5s share. Interim half-yearly dividend was 4 per cent Coles has a paid capital now at slightly under £15,000,000.
