COMPLETION OF POOL
New Approach For Loan
Another approach to the Local Authorities Loans Board for sanction to raise the loan necessary to provide for completion of the Centennial Pool was approved by the City Council last evening. In February of last year the board said it had considered the council’s application for a £168,000 loan, but had decided to adhere to its resolution of September. to defer decision on the proposal for 12 months. “This has gone on long enough, and it is time we made a strenuous effort, for the dressing-rooms and other amenities at the pool are becoming dilapidated,’’ said Cr. G. D. Griffiths.
