EXERCISE “BLUE PETER”

“No Special Meaning”

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 18. No special significance was attached to the Regular Force’s exercise “Blue Peter” said the Chief of the General Staff (MajorGeneral Sir Stephen Weir) at Papakura Camp today. The exercise, he said, was a technical one to test out mobilisation procedures on the ground and to “iron out the bugs." From the results of the exercise would come administrative procedures for mobilisation.
