MEAT FROM NEW WORKS

First Shipment Reaches London (From Our Own Reporter) LONDON, July 8. The first meat to reach Britain from the new Alliance freezing works at Lorneville, near Invercargill was unloaded from the Waipawa at London this week.

A sample of the lamb consignment from Lorneville given a special display at the Blackfriars cold store included one carcase which has been accepted as a gift by the Queen. This gift was arranged by Lord Macpherson, chairman of the importing firm, Macpherson, Train and Company, which sponsored the display.
