NEW AIR SERVICE TO SYDNEY
Bookings Heavy For Two Weeks "The Press" Special Service WELLINGTON, July. 18. Bookings for the first two weeks on the new Wellington-Sydney air service were. heavy, the district manager of Tasman Empire Airways, Mr R. D. J. Campbell, said yesterday. “After that they are coming in at a normal rate for this time of the year,” he said. (‘The bookings in Wellington are as heavy, if not heavier, than, those in Auckland ahd Christchurch 1 .” ' Businessmen would make up the greatest percentage of air. travellers to Wellington, and they did not book very far. in advance. The average tourist made arrangements months ahead. It would probably be common to find flights jntQ and out of Wellington not heavily booked in advance but reasonably full by the time the flight was made.
