Field Work Costs.—The total cost of field work carried out by staff and contract surveyors has increased from £193,743 to £218,782 for the current year, according to the annual report on surveys. The increase in the cost of contract surveys amounted to £14,675. There was an increase also in the amount of field work carried out for precise levelling, control traverses using the telluormeter, and the topographic survey for land development. *
