A UNITED STATES RB-47 RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT similar to the one shot down by a Soviet fighter. According to the United States Air Force, the aircraft, with a crew of six, had left its base at Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, on an electro-magnetic survey flight over the Arctic.
