N.Z. STUDENT NURSES
Mayor Opens. Conference The first day of the New Zealand Student Nurses’ Association conference was officially opened by the Mayor of Christchurch (Mr G. Manning) at the Christchurch Hospital yesterday. Among those present were the: Mayoress (Mrs Manning); the Medical Officer of Health in Christchurch (Dr. A. Douglas) and Mrs Douglas; the chairman of the North Canterbury Hospital Board (Dr. L, C. L. Averill); the Deputy-Director, Division ’of Mental Hygiene (Dr. S. W. P, Mirams); the Medical ■ Superintendent. Christchurch Hospital (Dr. T. Morton); and the Director, Division of Nursing (Miss F. J. Cameron). Dr. Averill made a formal presentation to Miss Cameron of a medal from the Christchurch Hospital Board, in recognition of her services to the nursing profession, Miss Cameron took her general training course at the hospital.
