Eyre River Crossings

Sir,—l endorse “Concerned’s” remarks and am staggered at the Eyre and Oxford County Council’s failure to take responsibility in flood weather, and to erect appropriate notices where needed. Add to . this menace the state of roads in the Warren, Cooper’s Creek, and Ashley districts which are not signposted. It is bad enough for settlers, but a nightmare for strangers, especially in bad weather. This unprogressive state of affairs is also only too evident in Oxford’s lack of drainage. Rain and floods have again shown this up to an alarming extent—Yours, etc., DISGUSTED. July 1, 1960. ■
