T.E.A.L. MONOPOLY OVER TASMAN
Changes Forecast By Mayor (New Zeauma Preu Asaoctattoni AUCKLAND, July 3. When Auckland had an international airport in two years and a half time, Tasman Empire Airways, Ltd., could no longer expect to maintain its monopoly over the Tasman, said the Mayor of Auckland (Mr D, M. Robinson) when he opened the new PanAmerican World Airways offices in Shortland street. Figures published today show that T.E.A.L. had incresaed its passenger traffic by 31 per cent, since it began operating Electra aircraft. The mayor predicted that when Auckland had a new international airport and the Tasman was open to all comers, air traffic to New Zealand would incrcase by 50 per cent.
