MRS M. J. SHADBOLT, who won the women’s singles title when the South Island table tennis championships were played in Christchurch last week-end. Mrs Shadbolt, who plays for the Eagles team in the Canterbury Table Tennis Association’s A grade competition, has been a Canterbury representative for several seasons, and was runner-up for the South Island title last season to Mrs P. Purdon. Mrs Shadbolt also won the women’s doubles title this year with Mrs T. May, the singles champion runner-up.
