WOOL SALE ROSTER

Date Of Proposed New System Mr B. S. Trolove, a member of the New Zealand Wool Board, yesterday corrected a report that appeared in “The Press” from Wellington of an . explanation given by him and Mr R. A, Edgecombe, another board member, of the new wool-selling roster system to the Dominion conference of the meat and wool section of Federated Farmers. “I stated pt the meeting that the proposed new roster system could not come into operation before the 1962-63 season,” Mr Trolove said. The report said the system would be introduced in the 1961-62 season. “No mention was made of the intention to sell wool by type rather than present a full card at each sale, but it was explained that the proposed revision of the roster would lead to a spread of wool types throughout the season,” he continued.

“With regard to the lengthening of the wool-selling season, it was stated that in the proposed revised roster wool sales would be held as early as sufficient wool was available, and that the selling season could well extend into June with the increase in our wool production.”
