“The Presx' Special Service MATAMATA. June 30. Fair Filou, early favourite for the Caulfield Cup, is unlikely to go to Australia now. His owner, Mr L. Dell, has told the trainer, L. W. Ford, of Matamata, that he intends to keep the gelding in New Zealand to race. A final decision will be made after the weights for the big Australian - spring handicaps are declared and unless they are very favourable to him he will not go. He did light work at Matamata this morning and is in bright condition but still not quite .as solid as he was when he reached such a high peak of form last spring. - Fair Filou will not run in the Rawson- Memorial Handicap / at Avondale on Saturday but will be reserved <or Trentham. according to his trainer. Summer Star, a smart juvenile this term for L. W. Ford, will soon resume work. The Blandford Lodge Stud recently sold Summer Star’s half-sister, by Balloch. to Malaya and this filly ha, been shipped. The filly i> a rising tWo-year-old.
