PARLIAMENT’S DIARY
When the House of Representatives resumed yesterday morning. 10 questions were asked Ministers by members and the report of the Controller and Auditor-General was tabled. Urgency was taken for the passing of the first Imprest Supply Bill of the session, and the speakers were:— Opposition: The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Holyoake), Messrs W B. Tennent (Manawatu). J. K- McAlpine (Selwyn), D. J Eyre (North Shore). F L. A. Gotz (Manakau), and Mr R. M. Algie (Remuera).
Government: The Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Holloway), the Minister of Labour (Mr Hackett), the Minister of Customs (Mr Boord>, Mr M A. Connelly (Riccarton) and the Minister of Finance (Mr Nordmeyer). After more than an hour's discussion in the committee stages, mostly on the Nelson railway, the bill, which provides for a sum of £40,415.000, was passed. The House rose at 6 p.m. till 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday when Mr Holyoake will open the Address-in-Reply debate. • .
