Motor-Racing Formula Junior Class For Ardmore
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 21.
Formula junior (F J) cars will race for the first time at a New Zealand Grand Irix meeting on January 7 at Ardmore. The first race on. the programme will be for these and racing cars up to 1100 c.c.
The Formula junior is a new class popular in Europe, in which the cars are based on standard components, relatively cheap to build, fast and reliable. Announcing the programme for the 1961 Grand Prix today, the chairman of the rules and race committee (Mr R. M. Grierson) said the Formula junior cars would race on a handicap basis.
