Macuata Towed To Auckland
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 21. The Fijian ketch Macuata, disabled on a trip from Suva to Auckland, was towed to a berth at Auckland this afternoon. Her 10-man crew, skippered by Mr R. Lidgard, of Auckland, were very happy to be in a safe berth after their ordeal.
Mr Lidgard said that both engines were out of action, and it would probably take two weeks to repair them. The sails which had been blown out would have to be restitched, and some of the seams were strained and leaking.
