BUILDINGS WRECKED
Gas Blast In' Kansas Town
HAVEN (Kansas), June 21
A natural gas explosion collapsed two business buildings and damaged two others yesterday, injuring at least seven persons.
Sheriff’s officers said the blast originated in the two-storey building of the Haven “Journal.” a weekly newspaper.
The walls of the “Journal” building and most of those in the one-storey hardware store next door were knocked down. The newspaper office’s roof tumbled into the wreckage and the hardware store’s roof canted crazily toward the ground.
A service station on the other side of the “Journal” building was damaged heavily. A mule barn behind the service station had one corner smashed. *
Three persons were injured in the “Journal” building, one in the hardware store, one in the service station and the others in the street.
