“UNFETTERED” COMPANY
Director’s View Of Project
(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, June 21.
“I have beep advised that this company will be unfettered, and free to make decisions in the best interests of New Zealand,” Sir Leonard Wright said tonight, commenting on the announcement to set up a State-owned iron and steel investigating company. “The' company will be able immediately to proceed with the very necessary investigation and technical work to prove whether this large user of overseas funds can be commercially produced from our own resources,” he said. “If it is proved to be economic, it will rank in importance next to our primary production. If uneconomic we will know, and can then forget it.”
