Service To Cricket

The recent death of "Gaff,” one of the best friends of Otago cricket, has been widely mourned. “Gaff,” as she was affectionately known, was Mrs Annie Gaffaney. She had been associated with sport tor many years and was one of the first women players in the province. One of Mrs Gaffaney's proudest achievements was to be still an active player when a grandmother, and to have three daughters playing at the same time as herself Mrs Gaffaney represented Otago several times. She was a life members of the Otago Women’s Cricket Association, and a former member of the New Zealand Women’s Cricket Council.
