Additional Vehicle For Cheviot Company

The addition of one vehicle authority to operate in the Number 9 transport district, carrying genera) goods, was granted to the Cheviot. Lime Company, Ltd. (Mr J. A. Bretherton), at a public sitting of the No. 9 Licensing Authority (Mr J. S. Hay Wood) in Cheviot, on Thursday. The company also sought extension of an authority to include transport of petroleum products in the No. 8 district with exemption from rail restriction between Cheviot and Claverley. The application was adjourned to a special sitting to be held in Christchurch. Also adjourned to that sitting was an application by Miles and Withers. Ltd., Cheviot (Mr M. G. L. Loughnan), for an amendment to a continuous goods service licence. The company sought exemption from rail restriction for carriage of petroleum products from Waipara to Cheviot.
