N.Z. CADETS’ SUCCESS

Officers’ Course In Australia (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE. June 15 A New Zealand officer cadet. J. D. Collinson, topped the course, and four other New Zealanders were in the. first eight, in a class of 27 cadets who graduated from the Australian Army Officer Cadets’ School at Portsea, near Melbourne, today. The New Zealand High Commissioner in Australia, Mr F. Jones, and the head of the New Zealand Services Joint Liaison Mission, Brigadier J. R. Page, came from Canberra to attend the graduation ceremony. Collinson won the GovernorGeneral’s Medal and the staff prize for academic results. Another New Zealand cadet, W. p. B. Brady, won the Military Board prize, which is equivalent to the sword of honour. The three other New Zealanders among the cadets who graduated from the course are J. B. Earsman (sixth), S. A. Davies (seventh), and C. G. Wotton (eighth). Brady, Collinson, and Earsman are returning to New Zealand on Friday. The others are remaining in Australia for postgraduate study.
