Moral Re-Armament
Sir,—l am all in favour of Moral Re-Armament, and 1 agree with world leaders who stress that the world was never more in need of this very thing. However, let it be with God’s complete armour and for His own sake. Repentance for sin. faith in the risen Christ, and then all the virtues that He will help us cultivate. With all the goodwill in the world, good intentions are not enough to save mankind. Again, M.R.A. because of communism is not enough. There must be the realisation that we need to get right with God.— Yours, etc., KING’S ARMY. June 14. 1960.
Sir.—World events make it obvious that the free world needs the strengthening of a moral ideology that builds character and produces leadership that is incorruptible. Our democracies are undermined by' a godless materialistic idea because we are so materialistic ourselves. Thank God for M.R.A., which calls us back to our true Christian heritage and is building into men and nations honesty, purity, unselfishness, and love in every sphere of life. If there is to be a free future for our children we must stir ourselves now, and choose God's plan for ourselves and our world, or endure the slavery and degradation of a Godless, controlled society. In a day of revolutions, surely this is the one to be a part of. It has been called “the greatest revolution of all time whereby, the Cross of Christ will transform the world.” —Yours, etc., HOUSEWIFE AND MOTHER. June 14, 1960.
Sir,—Lord Cobham said in a speech at the opening of the Gisborne War Memorial: “Today we face a .war of ideas. If we lose that war it will be as fatal as losing a shooting war. To win it we must overhaul our own thinking. The only alternatives before mankind today are communism and unselfishness.” Lord Cobham has also stressed the need for moral and spiritual values and giving our youth something greater to live for than themselves. This is the responsibility of every parent and citizen and I believe this is what Moral Re-Armament is doing. We need to face the materialism we have brought about by our selfish living and to teach our children how to listen to the still small voice of God within us and obey; His guidance.—Yours, etc., MOTHER OF FIVE. June 14, 1960.
