DISCUSSIONS ON TOUR DETAILS
Matters Causing Dissatisfaction (Special Correspondent N.Z.PX) (Rec. 9 p.m.) CAPE TOWN, Jun* IS. The All Blacks' manager, Mr T M Pearce, has had "free and frank discussions'' with th* South African Rugby Board over various aspects of the tour with which there la aom* dissatisfaction. It is believed the main reason for the discussiona was hospitality extended to the team—which tn tome, cases has been over lavish, and at other times possibly meagre. "The talks were entirely amicable, and we managed to straighten out a number of matters," said Mr Pearce. Following the discussions, the All Blacks will now be moved to th* heights of Johannesburg from Pretoria two days and a half before th* first test there on June 25, instead of being transported there by bus on the morning of the match—as on the original itinerary. It is also believed that the question of referees cropped up in th* discussions, with Mr Pearce and th* assistant manager. Mr J. L. Sullivan,, refusing to fall in with th* board'* request that they appoint refers** for the complete tour. Before th* first test they will hav* seen seven referee* in action.
