Net Profit Shows Drop (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 15. Net profit of William Cable Holdings, Ltd., for the year to March 31, 1960, was £141,446, against £211,712 in 1959 and £201,405 in 1958. The holding company’s share of the consolidated net profit before tax was £280,300. Net tax provisions take £138,854. The figures are given in a preliminary statement. The annual report will be
issued in about eight weeks’ time. The directors recommend a final ordinary dividend of 3J per cent., making an unchanged 7 per cent, for the year. Total dividends for the year, including preference, take £134,560, leaving £6886 to be added to unappropriated earnings of £372,533 carried forward. The final ordinary dividend is payable on August 23, and shares will be ex dividend on July 23. The directors also recommend payment of a dividend of 1 per cent, on C redeemable cumulative preference shares in terms of their participating rights, making 6 per cent, for the year. This dividend will be paid on October 1 in conjunction with the next half year’s preference dividend to September 30, 1960, and C preference shares will be ex dividend on September 3.
