Shootalong, which came into the limelight as a cross country runner at the Dunedin Jockey Club’s winter meeting, has been put aside for the season. As he raced particularly well In heavy going, a campaign for the Wellin ton meeting was in mind, but this has been cancelled. The Lo Zingaro—Greek Slipper gelding is only a five-year-old and his Gore trainer, E. A. Winsloe, and his Southland breeders, Messrs J. Collie and Kincaird, have wisely decided to give him plenty of time. With a second to No Offence in the Tahuna Hack Steeples on- the first day and easy wins In the Roslyn Hack and Hunters* Steeples and the open Dunedin Steeplechase on the second and third day respectively.
