INDUSTRIAL ZONING
Nine Objections Heard Yesterday
Six objections to -commercial zoning and three to industrial l B zoning were heard yesterday by the special sub-committee of the City Council. All the objectors had been established in their businesses for many years.
The objectors to commercial zoning were:—D. N. Adams, Ltd., (9-11 Tattersails lane). New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Ltd., (cool stores in Bedford row and garage at corner of Madras and Cashel streets). Scott Bros., Ltd., (50-65 Manchester street and Welles and Dundas streets), Jas. J. Niven and Co., Ltd.. (Colombo street). W. H. Price and Son, Ltd., (34-36 Manchester street and 11 Allen street), and Weeks, Ltd., (231 Tuam street). W. H. Price and Son, Ltdobjected to industrial B zoning of its non-ferrous foundry at 9-11 Allen street. Like objections were made by Duncan Holdings. Ltd., (204-208 St. Asaph street) and Motor Assemblies. Ltd., and Motor Assemblies Investments, Ltd., (303-307 St. Asaph street. 280-282 and 290-296 Tuam street). The district scheme was objected to by the New Zealand Flourmillers’ Society, representing D. H. Brown and Son, Ltd., Zealandia Milling Company, Ltd., Aulsebrook and Company, Ltd., H. Worrall Flourmills, Ltd., and Wood Bros., Ltd. The committee was Messrs W. P. Glue and G. A. G. Connal.
