APPOINTMENT TO ASHBURTON
Assistant For Canon H. G. Norris »
The Rev. P. A. T. Rynd has been appointed to the staff of St Stephen's parish. Ashburton, to assist the Rev. Canon H. G. Norris. Before his ordination. Mr Rynd served for a number of years in the Merchant Navy, and during the latter part of the war in the Royal New Zealand Navy. He was awarded the French Croix-de-Guerre for mine disposal work on the French coast
Educated in Wellington and at St John's College, Auckland, ha served first in the Auckland diocese and then became the Missions to Uenmen chaplain at Colombo. For the last three years he has been Missions to Seamen chaplain at Singapore and on the staff of Singapore Cathedral. Mr Rynd will take up his new work in October.
Cara Collide.—When two cars collided in Pages road,’ near Ottawa road, shortly after 4 p.m. on Saturday Mrs L. A. Ford, of 3 Lionel street, Avonslde, suffered slight head injuries. She was treated at the casualty department of the Christchurch Hospital and discharged.
