Teenagers March In Bomb Protest

IN.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, June 4

Headed by a float showing a Blue Streak missile resting on a coffin, more than 500 teenagers today began a 50-mile protest march to the Atomic Research Establishment on Foulness Wald, at the mouth of the River Crouch in Essex.

Dressed in brightly coloured clothes and carrying blankets and banners, they began their trek at Hackney, in London’s East End. The march was organised by the National Youth Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.

The demonstrators carried banners with slogans saying: “The most atrocious experiment ever conducted on man.”
