Wellington Entrant Wins (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, June 6. “Miss Wellington” (Miss Lor atne Jones) won the “Miss New Zealand” contest in the Town Tall tonight. A packed hall roared its approval when the result was >r-"’>n’'od Miss Jones, a sft 6in brunette with freckles, is a schoolteacher turned model. She was so delighted when the announcement was made that she promptly kissed the promoter, Mr A. J. Brown, on the cheek. An overjoyed Miss Jones told the crowd that it was a proud moment for her to know that she would be representing her country in America.
