POLLING IN BOLIVIA
New President Elected
LA PAZ (Bolivia), June 6.
Victor Paz Estenssoro, chief of the ruling Nationalist Revolutionary Movement was elected President today in a runaway election victory. Two defeated candidates, Walter Guevara Agza and Mario Gutierrez. immediately alleged tiaud. The victory of Mr Paz Estenssoro. a former President, came as no surprise. His lead grew steadily as returns poured in from all parts of the country. Incomplete unofficial totals were: Paz Estenssoro’s Nationalist Revolutionary Movement 128.458; Guevara Ana’s Authentic Nationalist RevoUtionary Movement 44.966; Mario Gutierrez* Bolivian Socialist Falange, 44.800; Communists. 4228; Revolutionary Workers* Party, 837. The election was held to find a successor to President Herman Siles Zuato, who will retire on August 8.
