MAN STABBED IN CHEST

Woman Arrested In Auckland

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 2.

An R.NZ.A.F. aircraftsman was taken from his home at Whenuapai with a serious wound about 8 a.m. today. He is Ronald Howard Larkins, aged 31, married.

Mr Larkins had a stab wound in the upper part of his chest. While detectives led by Detec-tive-Sergeant L. T. Churches investigated the circumstances of the incident at Whenuapai, De-tective-Sergeant R. J. Walton stood by in Auckland Hospital with the injured man. By mid-morning Mr Larkins’s condition was found not to be as grave as at first thought and arrangements were made to transfer him to Green Lane Hospital.

Later in the day, police arrested a woman and charged her with assault causing actual bodily harm. She will appear in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland tomorrow morning.
