High School Old Girls’.—Many members of the Christchurch High School Old Girls’ Association attended tbe annual picture party of the association last evening. Members were welcomed by the president, Miss A. M. Burns, during supper served in the lounge of the theatre after the film. Specially invited guests included Miss R. F. C. Tyndall (head mistress of the school) and Miss E. Cornyns Thomas, who trained the debutantes for the annual ball. Canterbury Women's Club.— Members of the Canterbury Women’s Club year circle held a musical evening recently in the club lounge. The leader of the circle (Mrs E. V. Arthur) introduced Mrs Hilda Reeve who had arranged the programme. The following took part:—Mesdames Kay Swallow and Eileen Williams (vocal duets); Kathleen Mangels (vocal solos); Doris Pashby and M. Cocker (musical monologues); Hilda Reeve and Mabel Mason (piano duets). The artists were presented with flowers by Mrs Arthur. North American Club.—Dr. P. J. Lawrence gave a talk on working and living among Americans at the first social meeting of the year of the North American Club, held at Elizabeth House. Dr. Lawrence, who spent some time at the University of Illinois and travelled extensively in the United States and Canada, showed a colour film to illustrate his address. Lieuten-ant-Commander J. E. Lynch, president of the club, and Mrs Lynch received about 35 guests. West Of England Women.—Mrs E Emerson presided at the annual meeting of the West of England Women’s Association The annual report said the association had supported “Meals on Wheels” and Friends of the Hospital during the year. Officers were elected as follows:—President, Mrs M. Logan; vice-presi-dents. Mesdames A. Dunstan and A. Rhodes; secretary-treasurer, Mrs E. Emerson; committee. Mesdames G. Truman and Watts; auditor. Mrs M. Anderson: trustee. Mrs E. Rowberry.

Bryndwr League Of Mothers.— The annual meeting of the Bryndwr branch of the League of Mothers was held recently. The following officers were elected:President, Mrs W. Reid; vicepresident, Mrs I. Kitchingham; secretary, Mrs R. Fox; treasurer. Mrs R. Little; magazine secretary, Mbs M. Hayes; committee, Mesdames A. Napier, K. Wottan, R Pattison, R. Head, D. Harvey, N. Moffit, P. Vercoe, R.
