PACIFIC HOLIDAYS POPULAR

More Winter Trips

Planned

As Christchurch weather becomes colder more and more persons are planning trips to warmer places, according to travel agencies in the city. Those planning trips form a crosssection of the public from all walks of life, and the places they want to visit are varied.

Australia is popular this year because of reduced fares. One agency is offering an eight-day tour of Australia for £65. all inclusive. For those who want to stay a little longer there is a fortnight’s tour for £ll6. These two tours are available only from June 1 to October 31, and already the bookings are fairly heavy. ; Tropical Fiji is always on the list of many Christchurch people seeking more sun. Fare combinations make it possible to combine a holiday in Fiji with a visit to other South Sea resorts, each of which has its own characteristic appeal. Hawaii and Tahiti welcome a regular influx of New Zealanders every year. One city travel agency is offering a round voyage to Honolulu and back for £173.

As fares become cheaper and travel quicker, Christchurch agencies are finding that bookings for tours during New Zealand's winter are constantly increasing. and they are expected to continue to do so.
