CONCERTINO FOR CLARINET

Work By John Ritchie To Be Performed

The Christchurch composer, John Ritchie, will conduct the premiere of his Concertino tor Clarinet and Strings at a lunchtime concert by the National Orchestra on Friday. The soloist will be Frank Gurr, first-desk clarinetist in the National Orchestra. V The work, which is in three movements, was written in 1958 tor Mr Gurr and the Alex Lindsay String Orchestra, but has not yet been performed. Now it will receive three performances within a week, for on May 23 it will be njaywt by the Alex Lindsay Orchestra io Wellington and in Auckland on May 28. |
