Trans-Tasman Tow Bv Tongan Tug

(New Zealand Press Association; AUCKLAND. May 15 Two steel pontoons are due to leave Auckland for Hobart next Saturday or Sunday, said Captain G. W. Dunsford. the organiser of the tow. today. They will be towed bv the Tongan Government tug, Hifofua. which is due at Auckland on Friday. The 1500-mile tow will take from 14 to 18 days. Captain Dunsford said The pontoons were used for the •pick-a-back" operation to float part of the Auckland harbour bridge into place and have been bought for use on the construction of a bridge across the Derwent river in Hobart Each pontoon is 109 feet long and 29 feet wide.
