APPOINTMENT OF VICARS

Rev. W. C. Arnold For Kaiapoi

The Rev. W. C. Arnold has been appointed vicar of the parish of Kaiapoi. Mr Arnold is at present vicar of the parish of the Good Shepherd, Phillipstown He previously served in the parish of Shirley in the diocese of Canterbury, England, having formerly served curacies in Hokitika and Ashburton-Tin-wald. He was vicar of Mount Somers before going to Phillipstown.

The Rev. J. F. B. Keith has been appointed vicar of the parish of the Good Shepherd, Phillipstown. Mr Keith is a master of arts of the University of Cambridge, was ordained in London in 1937, and served a curacy in Greenford. He was a chaplain to the forces during the war after which he was successively rector of Ashwell and of Fakenham, Norfolk In 1958 he came to New Zealand and joined the staff of St. Stephen’s Church. Ashburton, and in 1959 that of St Mary’s. Merivale. The Rev J Evans has Been appointed to the staff of St. Mary's Church, Merivale. Mr Evans is at present . vicar of Kaiapoi. He served his first curacy at St. Mary’s, Timaru, was vicar of Ross and South Westland, of Lyttelton, and LytteltonWest and Governor’s Bay He was subsequently vicar of Malvern and vicar of Ashburton, and rural dean of Mid-Canterbury
