T.A.B. WORKERS’ NEW AWARD

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 15. The new rates of pay for Totalisator Agency Board clerical and office staff employees incorporate the effect of the Arbitration Court’s 24 per cent, general order. Wages for weekly workers under the new award, range from £305 to £745 annually for males, and for females from £305 to £585. The minimum ordinary hourly rate for casual workers is 6s llfcd. Time and a half rates will be paid to weekly and part-time workers for the first three hours of all work outside or in excess of the daily hours- Double time rates will be paid after the three hours.
Work on Saturday will be paid for on the same basis, and time worked after noon on Saturday, when no work has been done in the morning, will be paid for at double-time rates. New provisions for overtime payment of casual workers are included in the award. Saturday workers will be paid 8s B’/id an hour. The award, which came into force on Wednesday, does not apply to workers | in receipt of more than £B6O a' rear.
