FOWLS MAULED BY DOGS

At Least 47 Killed In Boon Hay

At least 47 fowls in the Hoon Hay district died on Friday night after being mauled by dogs. Three frightened white leghorns, covered in blood, were all that remained of the 32 fowls in the run of Mr F. H. Read, of 248 Hoon Hay road. Dogs also broke into the runs of two neighbours and killed all the fowls. Twelve hens and a rooster were lost by Mr W. H. Wiltshire, and five hens belonging to Miss H. Engor were dead on Saturday morning.

Miss Ensor caught two dogs attacking the hens, but they escaped. The police are investigating.
