PIGEON FANCIERS’ CLUB SHOW

The judge of the United Pigeon Fanciers’ Club table show for young birds, Mr G. L. Clark, said that the Jacobins, nuns and fantails were of a high standard and that the frills, all African owls, were only average. The winning Jacobin, a black, although not through the moult, was easily the best. The second bird, a dun, was not so massive in its head feathering and did not stand well, while the third, a red, was loose in head feathering, he said. The winning owl was the right size and although it had little frill, won on its size, head and beak. The second bird was larger in size, broader in skull and straight-faced, and the third had a twisted beak. There was little to separate the nuns, the winner having a thicker and slightly wider shell.

Results were: Jacobin (4): W. £>■ Whiteside, 1,2, 3, and spoon for best Jacobin, nun or swallow. Fantails (3): W. T. Hayes, 1, and spoon for best fantail; Whiteside brothers, 2; N. Boswell, 3. Frills (3): C. C. Minty, 1,2. 3, and spoon for best frill.

Nuns (2): H. R. Greenaway, 1; J. R. Nancarrow, 2.
