Bid For Holeproof Ordinary Shares

Holeproof Industries, Ltd., has received an offer to acquire the ordinary shares of the company, directors reported to the Melbourne Stock Exchange today. The offer is receiving the attention of the board. Holeproof Industries is a holding company formed in 1957. It acquired Holeproof, Ltd., and Holeproof (N.S.W.), Ltd., and also controls Holeproof Apparel, Ltd., and Australian Knitting Mills, Ltd. Ordinary capital of the company is £1,401,571. Reserves, including unappropriated profit, are £1,303,332. In its latest year, to December 3., the company achieved a record turnover of £6m, but profit slipped from £240,714 in '1958 to £185,175. Ordinary dividend was reduced from 10 to 8 per cent
Peters Ice Cream.—Peters • Ice Cream (Vic) is to call an extraordinary general meeting to consider the subdivision of existing fully paid ordinary shares of 12s each into six shares of 2s each, similar subdivision of existing unissued ordinary 12s shares, and increasing the capital of the company to £sm by the creation of 27,500,000 shares of 2s each —(P.A.)
