LONG SPELL FOR BEAU TIRAGE

Two-year-old Handicap at Randwick yesterday, will be sent for a long spell. The trainer T. J. Smith has a high opinion of the gelding, but considers he needs a long time to develop. Beau Tirage, the odds on favourite w ??l, by u a , half a 'ength from the solidly-backed King of the Castle. The New Zealand-bred King of the Castle was the only runner backed with any confidence to beat the favourite.
Grand Cascade was a fair third, three lengths away. ®T. itb believes Tirage will develop into a good stayer. He said ms plan was to miss the bis spring races with Beau Tirage and concentrate on the Christmas events.
